We are glad to welcome you to the course «‎Modern manufacturing technologies for metal powder materials»!

The course is based on practical experience and real laboratories modern equipment for powder production. As examples, the results of research projects and scientific works of the past 5 years are presented.

О курсе

The proposed course will tell you about powder materials and modern techniques for materials processing that use powder as a base material. If you choose this course you will know the main characteristics of the powder materials, classification and functional properties of different powder materials. You will learn how to analyze the powder materials, what is the difference between them and what type of powder materials are suitable for different additive manufacturing techniques.

Nowadays, many technologies related to metal powders are actively developing - this is three-dimensional printing and the production of high strength, thermoelectric, heat-resistant materials and composites. So, what is the difficulty to produce them? Why are there so many different methods? Why can powders of the same metals have different properties? Our course will allow you to answer these questions.

The course consists of four modules:

  1. Introduction to the «world» of powder materials
  2. Mechanical alloying
  3. Gas-phase synthesis of powder materials
  4. Melt spraying

Результаты обучения

As a result you will be able: 

  • To select the powder materials on the market with the characteristics that guarantee the required quality of the final product;
  • To provide an incoming inspection of powder materials;
  • To develop technologies for production of powders with desired properties.
