Who is a proctor? A proctor is a special officer that monitors a student's test or exam passing.

What is identity authentication? A proctor verifies the face of a student with a document (a passport). Normally proctor does it offline in an entry point or online via webcamera. Procedures of identity authentication and control of test/exam passing can vary a little bit for different courses.
