The course is general-education and is designed for a broad audience of learners.
It is necessary to complete a general chemistry course. It is recommended to also complete courses in organic chemistry and physics (the optics section).
The mode of study is distance‑learning (online).
Weekly sessions will include watching thematic video lectures and completing tests with automated result verification.
An important element of the course is participation in the mandatory seminar assignment.
You can access the video lectures for the first two weeks in the public domain; the remaining materials will become available after you pay for the course.

OPC-1 (04.05.01 Fundamental and Applied Chemistry). The ability to address contemporary challenges in fundamental and applied chemistry by employing the methodology of the scientific approach and the system of fundamental chemical concepts and laws.
OPC-9 (04.05.01 Fundamental and Applied Chemistry). The ability to present the results of professional activity in oral and written form in accordance with the norms and rules accepted within the professional community.

- the main classes of antibacterial drugs;
- their mechanisms of action;
- their physicochemical properties;
- drug delivery systems for antibacterial agents;
- the main types of carriers.
**Skills:**
- theoretical foundations of methods for physicochemical characterisation of resulting systems;
- methods for testing their antibacterial activity.
**Abilities:**
- to propose an appropriate drug delivery system for a given antibacterial agent;
- to design an experiment for studying the physicochemical and antibacterial properties of such a system.
