Russian is considered to be one of the world's most difficult languages. This course aimed at helping those who are interested in understanding the Russian language. Every unit of the course consists of several parts explaining vocabulary, phonetics (pronunciation), grammar, and provides examples of simple dialogues in Russian. Russian for Beginners 2 continues to explain the basics of Russian to those who have already completed the first part of the course (Russian for Beginners 1).
Upon completion of the course students will have learned: the main Russian verbs of movement as well as their conjugation in the Past, Present and Future tense; the formation of Genitive, Dative and Prepositional case of Russian nouns, pronouns and adjectives; the formation of cardinal and ordinal numerals.
The course contains more than 150 new words and conversational phrases providing the learner with a basic vocabulary for everyday communication on such topics as shopping, traveling, life in a city and personal activities.

Upon completion of this course learners will achieve the following learning objectives:
1.1. Learn how to use the Accusative and the Genitive case of nouns and adjectives in everyday communication.
1.2. Learn how to conjugate the verbs хотеть, купить (покупать), брать (взять).
1.3. Learn how to use the construction Сколько стоит? Сколько стоят?
1.4. Learn how to express your preferences using the construction with нравится/не нравится.
1.5. Learn how to name the colours in Russian.
1.6. Learn how to describe an object or person in Russian.
1.7. Learn how to indicate the number of objects or persons in Russian.
2.1. Learn how to tell about the location.
2.2. Learn how to tell where you lived/studied/worked before and live/study/work now.
2.3. Learn how to use the Prepositional case of the nouns and adjectives.
2.4. Learn how to pronounce the ordinal numerals in Russian.
3.1. Learn how to pronounce seasons and months in Russian.
3.2. Learn how to conjugate the verbs идти/ходить, ехать/ездить in the Present, Past and Future tense.
3.3. Revise the Accusative case of Nouns.
3.4. Learn how to use the Accusative case of the nouns when asking or aswering the questions about direction.
3.5. Learn the useful vocabulary to get around the city.
4.1. Learn how to use Russian verbs in the Future tense.
4.2. Learn how to differentiate the Imprefective and Perfective aspects of Russian verbs.
4.3. Learn how to use the Imperfective and Perfective verbs in Russian.
4.4. Revise the vocabulary of the course.
4.5. Learn how to tell about the process and its result.
The course is aimed at the formation of general learning competencies for Bachelor’s and Specialists’ programs, as well as other competencies included in the education program.
